Course Description

Fast-paced coverage of mathematical techniques needed for advanced analysis in the physical sciences, particularly for quantum mechanics and electrodynamics. Phys 5280 is offered in the Fall semester. Topics covered include,

  • Sturm-Liouville problems
  • Functions of a complex variable
  • Calculus of residues
  • Series expansions
