PreReq: Credit in MATH 1650 and credit or enrollment in MATH 1660. Proficiency in algebra, trigonometry, & vector manipulation is recommended.

Course Description

First part of a two-semester in-depth introductory Physics sequence (Phys 2410/2420). This course has 3-components: Lecture, recitation and Lab. Offered in the Fall semester. Topics covered include:

  • Linear and angular momentum
  • Conservation laws
  • Rotational motion
  • Oscillations
  • Gravitation
  • Extremum principles
  • Selected topics from kinetic theory, thermodynamics, waves and sound
