Physics Breakthroughs of 2012
Physics World magazine has named its top 10 physics breakthroughs of 2012 and Iowa State physicists are involved in discoveries Nos. 1 and 3. Topping the list is the discovery of a Higgs-like boson and third on the list is observation of time-reversal violation. Iowa State physicists involved in the ATLAS (Higgs) or BaBar (time) experiments include Chunhui Chen, assistant professor; Jim Cochran, professor; Soeren Prell, professor; Eli Rosenberg, professor and retired faculty Bert Crawley and W. Thomas Meyer.
