Course Description

Students will perform experiments in classical and modern physics. Students will design an experiment and find ways to check the results. Those enrolled in 1 credit will do 1 experiment and have the option of meeting twice a week for half a semester or once a week for the whole semester. Those enrolled in 2 credits will do 1 - 2 experiments meeting twice a week for the whole semester.The course is offered in the Spring semester.

  • Frank Hertz experiment
  • Thermal conductivity of copper
  • Superconductivity
  • Positron Annihilation and Nuclear Spin
  • Second sound in liquid helium
  • Radon collection and analysis
