Grad Student David Rea wins NASA Award

Graduate student David Rea working with Prof. Jake Simon has just won a prestigious NASA FINESST award to study how the moons of Jupiter formed.  David proposed taking numerical simulations of a process thought to be responsible for forming asteroids and comets and applying them to the disk of gas and dust around a young, still-forming Jupiter.  Given that it remains a mystery how exactly the moons of Jupiter formed, this work is both novel and timely. Congratulations David!
