Named professorship awards for Robert McQueeney and Mayly Sanchez
Two of our faculty, Robert McQueeney and Mayly Sanchez, have been awarded named professorships at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, which are among the most esteemed positions in academia.
Faculty member Robert McQueeney has been named the inaugural John and Mary Weaver Professor of Physics in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The professorship gives special recognition and support to an outstanding faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, with preference given to scientists specializing in condensed matter physics.
Faculty member Mayly Sanchez has been awarded a Dean's Professorship in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for her outstanding work as a nationally and internationally recognized leader in neutrino physics.
