Title: Non-invertible Symmetries in QED and QCD
Abstract:
I will discuss a novel kind of global symmetry, non-invertible symmetry, in QED and QCD. These symmetries are implemented by conserved operators that do not have an inverse, thus going outside the paradigm set by Wigner's theorem. The neutral pion decay in the real world can be interpreted as the consequence of this non-invertible symmetry.
