Title: Black Hole Feeding and Feedback in Distant Active Galaxies

Abstract:
Supermassive black holes are thought to grow in relationship with its host galaxy. I will introduce the observational side of this relationship at high redshift, which could provide insights on the early phase of galaxy evolution. We attempt to summarize the field on how the earliest growth of the black holes in distant galaxies might look like, including our own space-based rest-optical spectroscopic observations of quasars at z>5. We then report recent studies of distant active galaxies that support for (and against) strong evolution in their spectral energy distribution. These two pillars are theoretically connected to the black hole feeding and feedback processes in galaxy evolution. I will introduce our ongoing work on this field, from current James Webb and upcoming SPHEREx space observations.
