Title: Discovering and Tuning Topological Materials
Abstract: Materials with symmetry-protected topological states, such as topological insulator, Dirac, Weyl semimetals and topological crystalline insulator, have greatly expanded our understanding of electronic band structures in condensed matter physics and materials science. Besides bringing new understanding to basic material properties, topological states have also potential for future technology. To realize such promises, many new topological materials have been discovered. In this talk, I will present our recent efforts to both discover new topological materials and also tune materials for topological features by chemical substitution, pressure, optical phonons and magnetic configurations with the latest example being anti-ferromagnetic rare-earth monopnictides family such as NdBi.
