Special condensed matter seminar: Topological Superconductivity Induced by Magnetic Texture Crystals

Systems that inherently exhibit topological superconductivity are rare in nature and the highly coveted
Majorana quasiparticles are therefore mainly pursued in engineered hybrid devices. In this talk, I
propose to harness the possible microscopic coexistence of superconductivity and textured magnetic
order as an alternative pathway to craft topological superconductors. Indeed, as I will show, layered
multiband spin-singlet superconductors coexisting with magnetic helix, whirl or skyrmion crystals,
give rise to a multitude of topological phases and a rich variety of Majorana boundary modes.
