SUMMARY:HEP Seminar: Dr. Michele Veronesi (Iowa State University)
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr. Michele Veronesi (Iowa State University)\n\nTitle:
Time-dependent CP violation at Belle II and LHCb: the next-generation B-f
actories in the mirror\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAbstract: More than 20 years have pas
sed since the first generation B-factories\, BaBar and Belle\, observed CP
violation (CPV) in B-meson decays\, establishing the Kobayashi-Maskawa st
ructure of the weak interactions of quarks. Today’s new generation exper
iments\, LHCb\, and Belle II\, are making ever more precise measurements o
f time-dependent CPV which could hint at deviations from our current theor
etical understanding. In this talk\, I will highlight their latest results
\, with a focus on the differences in analysis techniques used in the two
 experimental environments.\n\nMore information at: https://www.physastro.i
