In the online version, students work with a lab kit they receive from the department and interact with instructors through Webex. Participation in these meetings carries some credit but is not required to pass the course.

General introduction to the course

In this course, students will:

• Apply the theoretical concepts learned in PHYS 131 in an experimental setup.
• Learn how to set up an experiment and collect data.
• Learn the basic tools of data analysis.
• Learn to draw scientifically sound conclusions based on data.
